Oil Field Storage Tanks

When working on oil fields, one of the largest concerns is the storage of fracking fluids, hydrocarbons, process water, production water, and necessary fuels. Knowing these concerns and bulk liquid storage requirements, one of the reasons we began offering collapsible tanks is to help save customers space and money!

Collapsible Tanks for Oil Fields

flexible frac tankWhen used for oil fields, the Collapsible Frac Tank will typically feature a larger capacity of at least 20,000 gallons. While this is not a requirement, locations usually require large amounts of water or fuel and are looking for as few tanks as possible to store this liquid.

Depending on your application, tanks may be made from different fabric thicknesses and materials to meet the demands of your location.

Common sizes we see being used for these tanks include:

  • 20,000 gallons
  • 50,000 gallons
  • 70, 000 gallons
  • 90,000 gallons
  • 100,000 gallons
  • 200,000 gallons

However, collapsible tanks can be in any size between 1 and 250,000 gallons so don't hesitate to ask for specific sizing requirements.

What can a Collapsible Tank for Oil Fields Store?

Oil field tanks, especially in the larger capacities, will usually feature a thicker fabric for storing several gallons of liquid in the same tank. Some of the most common applications we see these tanks being used for includes:

  • Brine Water Storage
  • Fracking Fluids
  • Fuel (Diesel)
  • Temporary Water with Hydrocarbons
  • Process Water Storage

When compared to standard steel models, the collapsible tank has several inherent advantages that are especially useful in an oilfield storage setting. These advantages will include:

  • Better Heat Retention: This can be a huge cost advantages for cold areas. When compared to steel, collapsible tanks have a 50% better heat retention.

  • Large Capacities: One of the most obvious advantages of these tanks is their increased storage capacity. While a standard frac tank can only store at most 600 BBL, one of our largest collapsible units (210,000 gallons) will be able to store up to 5000 BBL.

  • Shipping Savings: Collapsible in natural, these oil field storage tanks can be folded up or rolled up when shipped to your location. This can save you huge amounts in shipping and transportation costs.

Overall, whether you're looking for a fuel tank, water storage tank, frac tank or liquid storage option, this is one oil field storage tank you will want to consider. View All Collapsible Pillow Tanks.

Collapsible Water Containers

When learning about our collapsible tanks, one of the most frequent questions we find customers asking is whether or not the tanks can be transported. In general, most of our collapsible tanks are not designed for transportation while they are full. However, when empty the collapsible tank is extremely flexible and is often folded or rolled up for movement to a new location.

That being said, we do offer a couple of uniquely designed collapsible tanks that can be used for transportation when they are full.

Portable Water Containers

The portable water bag is a favorite for emergency water storage and has often been used for storage around homes or industrial locations until their time of need. Portable water bags are designed specifically for transportation and can be built in capacities up to five gallons (5 gal.).

  • Built In Handle
  • Flat Bottom and Self Supporting
  • Ball Valve Fitting
  • Cap
  • Foldable when Empty

These tanks are perfect for emergency storage and have been used with water conditioners to store drinking water for up to 5 years.

When not in use, bags can be laid flat and even folded for easy storage in containers, trunks, under seats, or in various other small storage locations.

Pick Up Truck Tanks

These tanks have become a favorite for water hauling, emergency water transportation, as well as various drinking water and gray water applications, especially around agricultural areas. In order to successfully keep these tanks in place, various harnesses and baffles may also be used to help with tank stabilization.

As with all our collapsible tanks, these units will feature a fitting that allows them to be hooked up to hoses, pumps, and other water transportation units.

Flexible Water Storage Solutions

As the need to safely store water increases, many people are looking for alternate or flexible ways to contain, store, and reuse water. While popular choices tend to include the plastic (polyethylene tank) or the fiberglass storage unit, there is a growing demand for tanks that offer increased flexibility and mobility around a location. This has led many of our customers to ask, is there a flexible water storage solution?

The Collapsible Pillow Tank

One of the most flexible water storage solutions available on the market today is the Collapsible Tank. Known by many different names, this tank has been called the collapsible tank, bladder tank, pillow tank, flexible tank and even a water blivet. Regardless of its name, these tanks have provided many with increased flexibility and storage ability.

What is a Pillow Tank?

As its name suggests, a pillow tank is a tank that features a design similar to that of a pillow. When empty, this tank will lie completely flat and can even be folded up for easy transportation. As it is filled with water, its sides will slowly rise until a pillow shape is formed. These tanks typically feature a low profile for storage in tight spaces or locations.

The pillow tank is constructed from multiple fabric materials depending on the liquid you need to store. It is most commonly built with polyurethane, polymer alloy or E PVC coated materials.

Advantages

The advantages of the collapsible tank are numerous and can include:

  • Reduced Shipping Costs (can be folded or rolled up)
  • Wide Storage Capacities (1 to 250,000 gallons)
  • Low Profile (fits under decks and in basements)
  • Economical
  • Easy Setup (folded for faster transportation)
  • Flexible Exterior (can fit in existing old or leaking cisterns)

So whether you are looking for rain water collection, drinking water storage, or non drinking water storage for utilities, this tank is a flexible way to get the storage you need.
